Everyone laughed as Jared opened his Christmas present: plush moose horns strapped to a headband and a matching red nose.

"That's very funny, Jen. Very funny, thanks."

He hugged his best friend in gratitude for the gift, but kept his eyes on Misha. Dressed in a bright blue sweater and grinning like a madman, Misha was chatting it up with the rest of the cast. Jared didn't mind watching him. In fact, he loved to. But it was high time Misha turned those blue eyes toward him.

"Hey, Collins! Think fast," Jared said, tossing Misha's present towards him.

With a wink, Misha unwrapped the gift. The room got a bit quieter as he pulled out a watch with a black leather strap and expensive face. Misha frowned a bit. "We all said $50 and under. You didn't have to get me this."

Jared smiled and shrugged, "Hey, I wanted to. So where's my gift?"

Misha coughed awkwardly and ignored his question, turning to Mark and asking something about how it was to work on that Doctor Who show. Jared didn't understand. Had Misha forgotten about him? How could he? He'd even gotten a present for the guy who worked at the donut table.

"What's up with him?" Jared asked Jensen, who knit his eyebrows in concern.

"Not sure. Don't let it get to you. You know he's a great guy. And you two are good friends."

Jared faked a smile, "Yeah, sure..."

The rest of the evening, he avoided Misha. As they ate dinner, he kept his eyes turned away whenever Misha would send him a smile. It was easier to focus on how delicious the sweet potatoes were rather than try to strike up a conversation with the guy who'd forgotten about him.

Jared wouldn't have taken kindly to this situation no matter who it might've been. But Misha? Damn. It hurt like a punch in the stomach, but it only made him feel sicker every time he thought about dragging Misha by the fireplace and snuggling up to his warm sweater and body or leading him casually toward the mistletoe for a sneaky kiss. Misha had other plans, though.

When he realized that Jared had started to ignore him, he returned the favor. He made it a point not to look at him. Perhaps Misha - being the guy he was - thought it was some sort of game. After Christmas carols, a round of Monopoly and a few drinks, the cast began to pile out the door of Jared's house. Misha was the last to head for the door. Jared held it open for him: "Goodbye."

Misha shook his head and closed the door, "I'm not leaving yet."

"Oh yeah?" Jared snapped. "And why not?"

"Because you haven't unwrapped your present yet."

"M-my present?" Jared blushed, embarrassed that he'd doubted Misha for even a second. Of course he remembered.

"Yup," Misha grinned and - after taking a moment to send a Tweet from his phone - pulled Jared to the couch and rested his hands on the taller man's belt. Jared swallowed, "What are you doing?"

Misha laughed, "Isn't it obvious? I'm helping you unwrap your special gift..."
I don't usually ship Misha/Jared....

....but when I do, it's because of this awesome prompt. :P
